We are delighted to welcome guests to Riwaz in the historic town of Beaconsfield. Conceived as a gourmet destination for lovers of fine food, our ambition is to offer an exhilarating dining experience that is both adventurous and deeply rooted in heritage. Riwaz—meaning ‘tradition’—honours time-tested culinary methods while evolving them for the modern palate.
What defines Riwaz is Chef Atul Kochhar’s lifelong passion to champion the diverse regional cuisines of India, particularly the distinct sub-cultures of the Bohri, Ismaili, Moplah, and Chettiar communities. Our menus bring this vision to life through dishes inspired by historical recipes, ancestral stories, and culinary traditions gathered from across the subcontinent.
We look forward to offering you an unforgettable culinary journey at Riwaz.
Seasonal Lunch Menus
Featuring vibrant spices and complex flavours, our dishes include recipes passed down directly from Chef Kochhar’s grandmother. Alongside our main à la carte selection, our lunch menu offers two courses or three courses, as well as the ‘Jugalbandi’ four-course sharing menu for two.
Highlights include a chicken tikka masala pastry turnover paired with winter berry chutney, pan-seared sea bass served with a Malabar tomato, tamarind, and coconut sauce, aromatic Hyderabadi lamb biryani, classic Punjabi butter chicken, and a decadent garam masala chocolate mousse. A selection of complementary side dishes is also available, including mini samosas, crispy squid, chicken malai tikka, and freshly baked naan.
Our ‘Jugalbandi’ tasting experience showcases dishes designed to be shared, such as Cornish squid tossed in Tamil spices with curry leaves, chilli, and mustard seeds; slow-cooked lamb Rogan Josh with caramelized onions and aromatic Kashmiri spices; and kishmish aloo—tender new potatoes elevated with raisins and grapes.
Evening & Tasting Experiences
For an authentic evening feast, our à la carte menu features distinctive regional specialities such as Kali Mirch Aur Adraki Jungli Murg (guinea fowl curry infused with ginger and cracked black pepper), Chowk Ki Bhalla Papri Chaat (crisp poori with lentil dumplings, chilled yoghurt, date, and tamarind chutney), Gressingham duck kothu served with quail egg and Malabar paratha, and tandoori paneer butter masala simmered in a velvety tomato and fenugreek sauce.
Our gourmet Seven-Course Tasting Menu (available Sunday to Thursday early evenings) offers an immersive journey through regional Indian gastronomy. Highlights include Jalpari—tandoor-seared Scottish scallops—and Malai Chandi Tikka, featuring succulent grilled chicken in a delicate cream marinade.
Every dish pays homage to Chef Kochhar’s heritage and the rich culinary traditions of Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Odisha.
