Celebrating the Rich Traditions of India
If February is the month of love, then here is a culinary journey we know you will adore. All of our valued guests are invited to discover Riwaz—meaning ‘tradition’—located in the historic market town of Beaconsfield, where we champion the authentic, time-honoured culinary heritage of India.
What makes Riwaz so unique is twice-Michelin-starred Chef Atul Kochhar’s lifelong passion to celebrate India’s rich regional diversity—particularly the distinct sub-cultures of Bohri, Ismaili, Moplah, and Chettiar traditions. Here, Chef Kochhar brings this vision to life with menus inspired by history, ancestral stories, and time-honoured techniques from his travels across India, creating an adventurous dining experience that remains deeply rooted in tradition.
Our menus showcase a vibrant tapestry of spices and authentic recipes, including beloved dishes passed down directly from Chef Kochhar’s grandmother. Our lunch offering features two and three-course set menus, as well as the ‘Jugalbandi’ four-course sharing menu for two.
For an indulgent evening meal, our à la carte menu features distinctive regional specialities such as Kali Mirch Aur Adraki Jungli Murg—guinea fowl curry gently infused with ginger and cracked black pepper. We also offer a gourmet Seven-Course Tasting Menu (£65 per person, available Sunday to Thursday early evenings), featuring highlights like Jalpari (tandoor-seared Scottish scallops) and Malai Chandi Tikka (tender grilled chicken in a delicate cream marinade). Every dish pays homage to Chef Kochhar’s roots across Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Orissa, and beyond.
We look forward to welcoming you to Riwaz for an extraordinary experience of fine food, warm hospitality, and rich cultural heritage.
